The Ocean Statistics Website

Jesse Phillips’ webpages for Oceanography and Statistics content

On this site

The centralized site for oceanographic and statistical content curated by (potential) PhD student Jesse Phillips. The connected pages contain past and current projects, blog posts and tutorials.

NB UPDATE: This website will be overhauled and repurposed for my PhD (and beyond) research…big things incoming [31/01/2026].

Projects

PINNED: PhD Project Proposal Page

Here is where I will upload past and current research on oceanographic and statistical topics. That will include, but not be limited to, my work and research as a postgraduate student, future research outputs (including abstracts and summaries of my papers), and any coding work I may end up doing.

Blogs

Interesting things I come across that I would like to speak on. These can be pressing issues/debates in current science, or new discoveries that I find interesting enough to write on.

Tutorials

Instructional pieces on how to accomplish various tasks I’ve come across, will probably include some or other coding. These will most likely involve R, linux, or anything else that I taught myself that I can help teach others.
